Occasionally, a severely damaged rug or a rug that would not complement the customer's décor if used on the floor is turned into pillow covers. Pillow covers may be sewn as patchworks from small pieces of rug, or they may be sewn from large single pieces of rug.
This pillow cover was made from pieces of a damaged wool kilim. Cotton fabric was sewn behind the kilim on the front of the pillow to provide strength and stability. Velvet provides a backing for the cover, which has a zipper so that the stuffing may be removed during cleaning.
